The history of this winery dates back to the end of the 19th century, when Don Giuseppe Mondati, an Italian winemaker and oenologist from Ancona, emigrated to continue making wine in Mendoza, Argentina.
He awakened in his grandson, José A. Cicchitti Mondati, the interest and passion for the wonderful world of wine, who started Bodega Cicchitti in 1983. In 1989 he acquired an old winery in Guaymallén, which he remodelled, incorporating modern technology and facilities. In 1997, José Antonio Cicchitti Mondati won an award that marked a before and after in his winemaking career, as well as in the national industry. "Soigne", his sparkling wine par excellence, obtained "The first gold medal in Argentine viticulture abroad". Today this sparkling wine is still produced using the Champenoise or Traditional method.
Then came the "boom" of Malbec in the world, and like other wineries, Argentina presented its wines and sparkling wines in different international competitions, achieving international recognition for Cicchitti & Soigne.
Bodega Cicchitti is motivated by the constant growth of the national wine industry and, thanks to its passion, continues to offer novelties in each vintage, such as the exploration of new varietals or the launching of its Gran Reserva wines. Its wines are characterised by expression, aromatic and flavour intensity, and varietal typicity.
With more than 35 years of experience, the winery produces approximately 500,000 bottles a year, all of which are top-of-the-range products. They also export approximately 70% of their production, which allows them to be present in the most demanding markets in the world, such as Canada, USA, Colombia, Peru, Brazil, Germany, Switzerland, Holland, Poland, among others.
